Offshore Terminal Pilot

About the role

The Offshore Terminal Pilot is responsible for safely piloting export vessels through the Al Shaheen Field and overseeing mooring and unmooring operations. Working under the Client HSE‑SA/Representative, the role ensures compliance with international, client and local regulations while promoting a strong safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Pilot export vessels safely in and out of the Al Shaheen terminal.
• Execute mooring and unmooring procedures, including export hose connection and disconnection.
• Perform level‑one maintenance on SPM, mooring hawsers, tandem hawsers and floating hoses.
• Lead the Common Marine Team (CMT) and coordinate activities of mooring masters, swimmers, riggers, rope access technicians and VTS operators.
• Maintain up‑to‑date Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and risk assessments.
• Conduct inspections of terminal assets and support audits of chartered AHTs.
• Ensure adherence to Company HSE policies, client SOPs, IMO, OPITO and IMCA standards.
• Respond to emergencies such as fire, explosion or oil spill when required.

Required profile

• Incident‑free mindset with strict compliance to safety rules.
• Proven experience in offshore vessel pilotage and mooring operations.
• Familiarity with national and international maritime legislation (IMO) and industry standards (OPITO, IMCA).
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary marine teams and manage emergency situations.
• Strong understanding of risk assessment, JSA preparation and HSE procedures.
