Commissioning Lead (Offshore Telecom) - B2B

About the role

Orion Group is recruiting a Commissioning Lead for offshore telecom, based in Qatar. The role oversees all pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for the telecom discipline carried out offshore by the EPC contractor. It is a 3-year contract on a 28-day-a-week schedule of 12-hour shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the contractor's MCC, CSA and RFSU activities and monitor the Commissioning schedule against project milestones
• Organize weekly meetings with the CTR counterpart and take part in CTP kick-off meetings and walk-down certificates (MC and RFSU)
• Take part in punch-list follow-up, clearance meetings, and offshore meetings with CTR, CTP and vendors
• Review and validate CTR ITRs and check sheets, and take part in PTW and SIMOPS meetings
• Support OESS during start-up and follow up construction progress during pre-shutdown and shutdown of the Broanfield WHPs and RTs
• Oversee Brownfield offshore pre-commissioning and commissioning, ensuring safety and compliance, and verify the contractor's completion dossiers for mechanical completion, pre-commissioning and commissioning through to handover

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Applied Sciences or Engineering
• 10 years of experience in large-project commissioning in the oil and gas industry, including 1 year in a supervisory or oversight role
• Strong decision-making and prioritization skills under pressure, and technical, analytical and interface skills

Required skills

• Completion certificate types and punch-list categorization
• Experience with completion management systems such as PIMS, WinPCS, ICAPS or Hexagon
• Familiarity with construction, QA/QC and operations interfaces
