Internal Auditor (Nationals Only)

About the role

Sidra Medicine is hiring an Internal Auditor (nationals only) who works under the direction of the Manager - Internal Audit. The role leads and carries out audits and control reviews according to accepted professional standards, assessing the adequacy of internal controls, the efficiency of policies and procedures, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform complex operational, compliance, financial and investigative audits and provide management advisory services.
• Support the Manager Internal Audit in developing detailed audit programmes and planning activities.
• Prepare and implement audit procedures, test internal controls and document root causes and recommendations.
• Assess the effectiveness and efficiency of internal controls in the assigned area and review operations' objectives and goals.
• Scrutinize financial records of assets such as materials, equipment and buildings, and identify non-conformities across Sidra Medicine.
• Test business processes and controls to identify risks and mitigation strategies, and adapt audit methodologies to new engagement requirements.
• Prepare technical documents and audit reports, give status updates to the managers, and adhere to the IA manual and Sidra's Code of Conduct and conflict of interest policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or equivalent from an accredited institution.
• 5+ years of relevant auditing experience, preferably in a healthcare environment.
• CIA, CA, ACCA or equivalent certification, and membership of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Understanding of accounting, financial reporting, internal audit standards, COSO and risk assessment.
• Knowledge of audit procedures, risk management, forensic investigation and internal audit reporting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Communication, time management, teamwork, confidentiality and problem-solving.
