Mechanic - Material Handling Equipment

About the role

Madre Integrated Engineering is hiring a mechanic in Doha to maintain Material Handling Equipment (MHE) in a government/military setting. The role covers preventive, corrective and emergency maintenance, fault diagnosis and repairs, keeping equipment safe and operational.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive, corrective and emergency maintenance on all assigned MHE.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic faults and carry out repairs.
• Inspect equipment for defects, wear and potential failures, and repair or replace defective components, parts and assemblies.
• Carry out routine servicing, lubrication, adjustments and calibration, and ensure equipment is safe and operational.
• Respond quickly to breakdowns to minimise downtime and perform functional testing after repairs.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, service reports and repair records, and coordinate maintenance schedules with warehouse and operations staff.
• Ensure compliance with manufacturer recommendations, safety procedures and maintenance standards, and keep the workshop tidy.
• Report recurring issues and recommend improvements, and support inspections, audits and readiness activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience maintaining and repairing MHE.
• Diploma or ITI in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile, Heavy Equipment or a related technical trade.
• Hands-on experience servicing forklifts, pallet trucks, reach trucks, stackers, tow tractors, scissor lifts, boom lifts, telehandlers and similar equipment.
• Ability to read equipment manuals, technical drawings and service documentation.
• Good communication skills and ability to write maintenance records in English.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic and diesel systems.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment failures.
• Experience with maintenance tools, testing equipment and diagnostic instruments.
• Familiarity with preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance.
• Basic knowledge of workplace safety procedures and maintenance standards.
