Mechanical Technician - Ammonia / Urea Process Plant

About the role

Madre Integrated Engineering is looking for a Mechanical Technician for its Ammonia and Urea Process Plants in Doha. The role covers preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance of rotating and static equipment, including shutdown and turnaround work. It is a full-time position with a long-term duration.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance of rotating and static equipment in the Ammonia and Urea plants.
• Maintain and troubleshoot pumps, compressors, turbines, blowers, fans, valves, vessels, columns, heat exchangers, piping systems and associated mechanical equipment.
• Carry out equipment overhauls, alignment, bearing and seal replacement, and mechanical repairs according to maintenance schedules.
• Inspect and maintain equipment during plant shutdowns and turnarounds.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, isometrics, P&IDs, equipment datasheets and maintenance procedures.
• Diagnose equipment failures and implement corrective actions to ensure reliable plant operation.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and update work orders through CMMS/SAP systems.
• Follow Permit to Work (PTW), Lock-Out Tag-Out (LOTO) and all plant HSE requirements, and keep the site tidy and safe.

Required profile

• Diploma, ITI or trade certificate in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 6 years of hands-on maintenance experience in Ammonia, Urea, fertilizer, petrochemical, refinery, LNG, chemical or process plants.
• Strong experience with rotating and static equipment maintenance.
• Experience in shutdown and turnaround maintenance.
• Good understanding of PTW, LOTO and industrial safety practices.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.

Required skills

• Knowledge of pumps, compressors, turbines, heat exchangers, reactors, columns, vessels and valves.
• Familiarity with CMMS/SAP maintenance systems is preferred.
