Painter/Polisher

About the role

Alwadi Hotel Doha, the first MGallery boutique hotel in Msheireb Downtown Doha, is looking for a Painter/Polisher. The role helps preserve the hotel's beauty and elegance by keeping walls, furniture, fixtures and surfaces in excellent condition, so guests enjoy a welcoming environment.

Key responsibilities

• Paint, polish, varnish and finish walls, ceilings, doors, furniture and other surfaces.
• Perform routine maintenance, touch-ups and repairs to keep the hotel's appearance and standards.
• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling cracks and applying primers before painting or polishing.
• Select and apply paints, coatings, varnishes and polishing products to the required finish.
• Inspect finished surfaces for a smooth, clean result and keep tools and equipment in good condition.
• Follow health, safety and environmental procedures when handling paints and chemicals, and keep work areas clean and hazard-free.
• Report damaged surfaces and material needs to the Engineering Supervisor, coordinate with the Engineering team and assist with preventive maintenance and renovations.
• Maintain stock levels of painting and polishing materials.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Painter, Polisher or in a similar maintenance role is preferred.
• Physically fit, able to work at heights when required and authorised, and willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with the Engineering team.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of painting, sanding, surface preparation, polishing and finishing techniques.
• Familiarity with paints, varnishes, coatings and polishing materials.
• Ability to spot surface defects and carry out repairs and touch-ups.
• Basic knowledge of maintenance tools, equipment and workplace safety procedures.
