Project Controls Engineer

About the role

QatarEnergy LNG is looking for a Project Controls Engineer in Ras Laffan to support project control functions for Category IV to VI projects, in line with department business strategy. The role ensures the implementation of project budgeting and cost control processes, helping complex brownfield projects run on time and within budget through functional planning and cost control expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Implement integrated project cost control procedures for QatarEnergy LNG CAT IV to VI projects and ensure they deliver on department objectives.
• Review and update cost control processes and procedures, suggesting improvements where applicable.
• Support project funding, cost monitoring and control so projects stay within approved schedule and budget.
• Maintain clear reporting and communication lines with project management teams.
• Collect Work Program and Budget (WP&B) data and provide it to the Project Assurance section.
• Support project management and contracts in investigating contractual deviations and compiling contract data for schedule and cost analysis.
• Establish a performance analysis process leading to benchmarking and best practice sharing.
• Advise project costs, improve work methods and practices, and help embed uniform cost control procedures across the portfolio.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• 6 years of multi-discipline experience in the oil and gas industry, with a focus on planning and cost control across project phases.
