PV Technician - Solar Power Plant O&M

About the role

SPIE Global Services Energy, an international subsidiary of the SPIE Group active across the energy production value chain, is looking for an experienced PV Technician to support the operation and maintenance of large-scale Solar Power Plants. The role covers hands-on work on photovoltaic systems, electrical equipment maintenance, troubleshooting and high-voltage switching.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance on PV plant equipment.
• Inspect, test and maintain transformers, switchgear and protection relays.
• Maintain and troubleshoot MV/LV motors, vacuum circuit breakers and electrical distribution systems.
• Carry out MV and HV cable jointing, termination, repair and testing.
• Support O&M of substations up to 33kV and their electrical systems.
• Maintain UPS systems, thyristor rectifiers and plant electrical utilities.
• Perform switching and isolation in line with safety procedures.
• Diagnose and fix faults using PLC-based systems and HMIs.
• Support HVAC and instrumentation maintenance, ensure HSE and electrical safety compliance, and prepare maintenance reports in computerized systems.

Required profile

• Diploma or technical certificate in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience operating and maintaining solar power plants of 100 MWp and above.
• Strong experience in numerical relay protection, transformer maintenance, MV/HV cable jointing, vacuum circuit breaker maintenance, and electrical systems up to 33kV.
• Preferred: utility-scale solar experience, high-voltage switching authorization, CMMS/SAP familiarity, and experience with 1500V DC, 33kV and 220kV systems.
• Good computer skills, strong troubleshooting and communication skills, and ability to work in a multicultural environment.
