Rectification Controller

About the role

The Rectification Controller reports to the Forward Maintenance Manager and is a skilled maintenance technician who prioritises and allocates manpower. The post holder needs an excellent understanding of Typhoon aircraft systems and reporting processes, and is responsible for maintaining the ESS State Board, forecasting aircraft recovery times and briefing the Part M organisation on fleet status and recovery actions.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately update the ESS State Board with progressing estimates and aircraft recovery time forecasts
• Brief the squadron-authorised pilot on aircraft limitations and the Part M organisation on fleet status and recovery actions
• Carry out and supervise maintenance and diagnostic tasks such as ground handling, flight servicing, inspections, repairs, modifications, fault rectifications and functional tests
• Supervise the team so that maintenance is done to schedule, escalate issues and meet delivery targets
• Maintain airworthiness records on relevant systems and ensure all Part 145 activities are performed by qualified, authorised personnel
• Evaluate faults, raise ad hoc work cards and support the Human Factors, Risk Management and Safety Assurance system
• Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks, ITAR, EaPW and ISO requirements, and respond to audit findings

Required profile

• Engineering Apprenticeship (City & Guilds 2675 or 2661 or equivalent), ideally in Aeronautical Engineering, or a recognised engineering degree
• Minimum 2 years at supervisor level before this role, and 5 years of practical experience applying aviation safety standards
• 2 years of relevant work experience in an aircraft maintenance environment, with a log book of skills and authorities
• 6 months of experience on the Typhoon type in the last two years
• Knowledge of Acceptable Means of Compliance
