Senior Kitchen Supervisor

About the role

The St. Regis Residence in Marsa Arabia Island, Doha, Qatar is looking for a Senior Kitchen Supervisor. This full-time, non-management position supervises cooks and kitchen workers, ensures food quality and presentation, and supports the kitchen team and management.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of cooks and kitchen workers, and assist them with tasks and provide what they need.
• Determine how food should be presented, create decorative displays, and ensure proper portion, arrangement and garnish.
• Monitor the quantity of food prepared and the stock of kitchen supplies and food.
• Inform Food & Beverage service staff of menu specials and out-of-stock items, and prepare special meals or substitutes.
• Maintain kitchen logs for the food safety program and check food quality, notifying the manager of non-compliant products.
• Help management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining and motivating staff.
• Follow company, safety and security policies, report accidents and unsafe conditions, and complete required safety training.
• Keep uniforms and personal appearance clean and professional, protect confidential information and company assets, and address guests' service needs.

Required profile

• Preferred: technical, trade or vocational school degree.
• Preferred: 4 to 6 years of related work experience.
• Preferred: at least 2 years of supervisory experience.
• No license or certification required.

Physical demands include standing, sitting or walking for long periods, reaching overhead and below the knees, and lifting up to 25 pounds. The role is based at the hotel in Doha.
