System Test Manager

About the role

BAE Systems Strategic Aerospace Services is looking for an experienced System Test Manager in Doha to lead its testing team and deliver high-quality software products. The role covers planning, coordinating and overseeing all testing activities, defining test strategies and managing resources to meet project timelines and quality standards, including support during night and after-office hours.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain test strategies, plans and processes aligned with project requirements and business objectives.
• Lead, mentor and manage a team of testers to ensure productivity, quality and motivation.
• Work with the project manager, software manager and stakeholders to clarify requirements and define testing scope.
• Oversee functional, regression, integration, performance and user acceptance testing.
• Monitor and report key testing metrics, progress, quality and risks to senior management.
• Assess and mitigate risks related to software releases and deployments.
• Manage test environments, tools and automation frameworks, and ensure compliance with industry standards and internal quality policies.
• Drive continuous improvement through feedback and retrospectives, and coordinate with external vendors or partners.
• Support night and after-office hour testing when required.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• At least 15 years of experience in software testing and quality assurance, with a minimum of 10 years in a managerial role leading end-to-end testing for large-scale projects in Agile and Waterfall environments.
• Experience in large-scale testing and commissioning in the transport/traffic management domain is advantageous.
• Proven experience collaborating with vendors and partners, and strong leadership, communication and analytical skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of SDLC and testing methodologies (Agile, Waterfall).
• Test management tools such as JIRA and TestRail; automation tools such as Selenium and UFT; defect tracking systems.
• Familiarity with performance testing is a plus.
