Typhoon Mechanical Operator

About the role

The Typhoon Mechanical Operator will join the Base Maintenance Facility, reporting to the Mechanical Junior Supervisor. This role involves performing detailed maintenance, inspection and fault rectification on Typhoon aircraft mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with approved technical data and regulatory frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out detailed maintenance and inspection activities on Typhoon mechanical systems using work packages and approved technical information.
• Perform component removals, repairs, modifications, replacements and functional/system testing as required.
• Assist in fault evaluation, raise ad‑hoc work cards for found faults, and support configuration management.
• Maintain personal task authorisation in line with QAF requirements and report progress against delivery targets.
• Execute support tasks such as oversight checks, tooling and test equipment control, and ensure all maintenance actions are documented in airworthiness records.
• Compile reports, identify issues, and escalate appropriately while maintaining a personal log book for currency.

Required profile

• Experienced Mechanical Technician with proven maintenance experience on Typhoon aircraft.
• Strong understanding of approved data sets and ability to follow maintenance instructions within the regulatory framework.
• Demonstrated trade knowledge of Typhoon assemblies, diagnostic procedures and effective teamwork.
• Flexible, proactive attitude and ability to take direction appropriately.
