Application Specialist - Healthcare Insurance Billing Systems

About the role

Madre Integrated Engineering is hiring a full-time Application Specialist in Doha to support healthcare insurance billing systems. The role covers configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of RCM, billing and insurance systems, claims lifecycle support, testing and user training, with a focus on Cerner workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting RCM, billing and insurance systems to meet compliance and operational requirements.
• Support billing rules setup, corporate accounts, exemptions, markups and pre-authorization workflows according to health insurance standards.
• Support claims lifecycle processes: eligibility checks, pre-authorizations, billing, coding, claim submissions and remittance processing.
• Integrate insurance data with internal EMR and financial systems, with a focus on Cerner workflows.
• Work with Finance and Insurance teams to document business requirements and turn them into system workflows.
• Prepare and run test cases for system testing, UAT, unit testing and functional testing.
• Deliver end-user training and support, including training materials for insurance workflows.
• Assist in data migration, prepare migration templates and worksheets, and perform master data mapping for insurance workflows.
• Take part in system upgrades, patches and testing cycles, and prepare functional documentation such as SOWs, workflows and best practices.
• Provide on-site and remote support during go-live and post-go-live, and work in shifts for critical projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics, Business Administration or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience in healthcare IT, especially RCM, billing and insurance systems.
• Expert knowledge of claims management, including eligibility verification, pre-authorizations and remittances.
• Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR platforms (Cerner, Epic, Oracle Health or equivalent) and their insurance workflows.
• Flexibility to work in shifts.

Required skills

• Understanding of billing and insurance workflows, including Fee for Service, DRG and insurance agreements.
• Troubleshooting technical issues and supporting end users.
• Analytical and documentation skills; understanding of HL7 messaging formats.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Visio for process documentation and workflow design.
