Assistant Vice President Reporting and Taxation

About the role

QNB Group, Qatar National Bank, is looking for an Assistant Vice President Reporting and Taxation. The role manages tax processing and tax department inquiries related to Asset Management, Financial Statement reporting and external and internal audit, and maintains records for Asset Management and Investment Services activities such as portfolio fund management.

Key responsibilities

• Shareholder and financial: develop business budgets, control operating costs and contribute to sales income through accounting and administration services; implement KPIs and best practices for the role; promote cost efficiency and productivity.
• Customer service: ensure efficient operations of Reporting and Taxation, supervise delivery of reports on schedule in line with local procedures, client and tax authority requirements, and handle fund managers, brokers, investors and internal departments' queries quickly and accurately.
• Maintain Service Level Agreements with internal units, provide timely data to auditors, compliance, financial control and risk, and build strong relationships with related departments.
• Documentation: maintain asset management documents such as licenses, prospectuses, articles of association and records.
• Transfer Agency: manage profiles to ensure timely delivery of reports and data.
• Fund Administration and Accounting: coordinate funds, investment managers, brokers and founders so data and transactions are captured correctly, and manage asset management profiles in the system.
• Tax: manage direct and indirect tax provision calculations, tax structures and their business impact.
• Audit and reporting: ensure account reports, financial statements and audit reports are printed and dispatched on time, close audit findings within deadlines, and produce weekly and monthly MIS reports.
• Query management: answer inbound queries within 24 hours, escalate urgent matters to the department head, and lead continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Tax, Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or Information Technology; a Master's degree is preferred.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience, preferably in a highly rated international bank.
• Familiarity with tax regulation and legality, financial statements and cost accounting.
