Automation Technician

About the role

Madre Integrated Engineering is hiring a full-time Automation Technician in Doha. The technician carries out routine, corrective, shutdown maintenance and project commissioning on automation systems, keeping the Safety and Automation Systems (SAS) efficient, safe and economical while complying with management systems and company strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out day-to-day routine and non-routine maintenance on installed automation systems, completing work on time and to quality standards.
• Maintain ICS computers, including antivirus, Microsoft security patches, OS configuration and basic hardware/software troubleshooting; keep automation assets compliant with cybersecurity requirements.
• Support installation, testing and commissioning of ICS projects and upgrades, and take part in call duty for maintenance outside working hours.
• Initiate and obtain approval for work permits, hold toolbox meetings and ensure the right tools and safety equipment are available.
• Support the team in achieving section/department KPIs and comply with OHS, quality, environment, responsible care, product stewardship and energy management procedures.

Required profile

• Diploma in Automation Engineering.
• 6 years of hands-on automation engineering experience in oil & gas, petrochemical or fertilizer industries.
• Fluent reading, writing, speaking and understanding of English.
• Familiarity with hazardous chemicals and materials, and adherence to safety requirements.
• Knowledge of permit-to-work (PTW) systems and successful completion of the company's PTW training and assessment.

Required skills

• Honeywell TDC 3000, Experion and safety systems (FSC, Safety Manager), Triconex safety systems, Siemens S7 PLC, Allen Bradley PLC.
• Bently Nevada vibration monitoring, CCC anti-surge control, Triconex ITCC, Jaquet overspeed protection, Woodward governors, MARK VI and MARK VIe gas turbine systems.
• Computer hardware and software maintenance, cybersecurity guidelines and networking.
