Cards Portfolio Growth & Optimization Manager

About the role

The client, a global cards and payments firm, is seeking a Cards Portfolio Growth & Optimization Manager to join a leading bank in Qatar. Embedded within the bank's cards team, you will turn portfolio data into actionable growth initiatives across activation, usage, spend mix, cross‑border spend and approval rates.

Key responsibilities

• Own the portfolio growth roadmap, ranking initiatives by expected value, effort and time to impact.
• Diagnose portfolio performance using segmentation, cohort and lifecycle analysis and translate findings into specific, value‑linked actions.
• Drive activation, usage and spend through targeted campaigns, A/B tests and offer design from issuance to dormancy.
• Optimise product construction, customer value propositions and pricing levers for each target segment.
• Collaborate with risk, authorization and operations teams to reduce friction and improve approval outcomes.
• Increase cross‑border, e‑commerce and digital‑wallet spend by expanding the bank's share of customer spend.
• Report results to senior stakeholders and build internal capability through playbooks and knowledge transfer.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience managing credit and/or debit card portfolios at an issuer, card scheme or advisory firm.
• Strong understanding of card product lifecycle, including acquisition, activation, usage, retention and reactivation across credit, debit, prepaid and commercial cards.
• Proven track record delivering data‑driven growth initiatives and influencing senior stakeholders without formal authority.
• Experience with GCC banks and familiarity with local regulations is preferred.
