Control Engineer I

About the role

The Control Engineer I provides front‑line technical and engineering support for Integrated Control and Safety Systems (ICSS) on a major offshore oil and gas field. Based on‑site in Doha, the role combines daily interaction with offshore teams, internal departments and external contractors to ensure safe, reliable control and safety system operation.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver technical support and engineering solutions for control and safety systems, including maintenance, troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis.
• Act as the discipline engineer for ICSS, preparing scopes of work, work packs and technical procedures.
• Coordinate with offshore C&I supervisors, Tier 2 maintenance coordinators, operations centre managers, planners, procurement, warehouse and maintenance departments.
• Manage the lifecycle of spare parts for control and safety systems, from creation to refurbishment or disposal.
• Provide input to budgets and highlight any unexpected impacts from unplanned work.
• Promote an incident‑free environment and ensure compliance with HSE legislation, company standards and procedures.

Required profile

• Experience in control and safety system engineering within the oil and gas sector.
• Ability to work closely with multidisciplinary offshore and onshore teams.
• Strong safety mindset and familiarity with HSE compliance requirements.
• Effective communication skills for daily liaison with internal and external stakeholders.
