Early Years Teacher – Play‑Based Learning

About the role

Nord Anglia Education is seeking a warm, creative Early Years Teacher to join Etqan Global Academy (EGA) in Doha, Qatar. You will help build a play‑based, inquiry‑led learning environment for children aged 3‑6 within the IB PYP Early Years framework.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, play‑based and inquiry‑led learning experiences aligned with the IB PYP Early Years framework.
• Create and maintain a nurturing, safe and stimulating classroom where all children feel valued.
• Assess and track children’s development using observations and portfolio evidence to inform next steps.
• Build strong partnerships with parents through regular communication and engagement.
• Collaborate with the Early Years team to plan, reflect on and review units of inquiry.
• Promote the IB learner profile, international‑mindedness and PYP attitudes in daily practice.
• Support children’s wellbeing, independence and social‑emotional development.
• Contribute to the wider school community, including CPD, events and improvement activities.

Required profile

• A recognised teaching qualification in Early Years, primary or early childhood education (PGCE, QTS, B.Ed or equivalent).
• Experience teaching 3‑6‑year‑olds, preferably in an IB or international school setting.
• Knowledge of the IB PYP Early Years framework or a comparable inquiry‑based curriculum.
• Strong understanding of child development theory and play‑based learning approaches.
• Excellent communication skills and a nurturing approach to working with young children and families.
• Commitment to inclusive practice, safeguarding and child protection.
