Electrical Engineer - Maintenance Management

About the role

The Electrical Engineer manages a team and ensures preventive and corrective maintenance is carried out properly, supporting the Senior Technical Officers and Technical Officers and helping improve department performance. The engineer also monitors the handover of works, reports faults on equipment to the Senior Engineer, Deputy Manager or Manager, and produces technical reports.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure the team performs its assigned work, trains it on maintenance tasks and keeps it up to date on assets and installations.
• Ensure PPM and corrective tasks are done correctly and on time, and supervise subcontractors, scheduling visits and overseeing their work.
• Prepare documentation, issue permits to work and manage authority approvals, and make reports on defects, breakdowns and damages.
• Follow the duty roster, monitor spare parts levels and availability, and handle special projects and liaise with customer managers as assigned.
• Prepare documents for internal or external audits and comply with HSEQ standards, including health procedures and quality standards.
• Ensure employees have the statutory training, proper PPE, machines and tools, and awareness of MS, RA and COSHH; report accidents, incidents and near misses to the line manager.
• Follow instructions from Senior Engineers and Managers, and report lack of equipment or tools to the line manager.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering.
• 8 years of relevant maintenance management experience in a compatible facility.
• Team building, problem-solving and dispute resolution skills.
• Detail-oriented, able to lead teams and learn independently.

Required skills

• Knowledge of regulations such as OSHA, MSDS, NFPA and BS.
• Computer literacy.
