Emergency Response Lead

About the role

QatarEnergy is looking for an Emergency Response Lead in Doha. The role develops and provides a corporate emergency management governance programme covering mitigation, preparedness, response, recovery and resilience, so that credible scenarios can be handled effectively and in time. It also covers onshore, offshore, port, marine and diving operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain corporate governance documentation setting the minimum requirements for emergency preparedness and response planning and capabilities across onshore, offshore, port, marine and diving operations.
• Ensure oil spill emergency preparedness and response arrangements meet national legislation, relevant conventions and standards.
• Monitor the implementation of emergency preparedness and response standards and give subject matter expert input to crisis management and business continuity planning.
• Review and evaluate Directorate and Department emergency response plans against corporate requirements and cover all credible scenarios, and periodically assess emergency preparedness, response capabilities and public and community preparedness.
• Set up performance criteria, monitoring and reporting processes to measure the effectiveness of the emergency management system.
• Develop a standardised training programme for tiered emergency response and management teams and govern its implementation.
• Develop a recovery strategy, support its implementation and work with business continuity teams to support a return to normal operations.

Required profile

• 15 years of experience in emergency management, or fire safety, occupational health and safety in the oil and gas, chemical or petrochemical industry, preferably with at least 10 years in a similar position.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science or Emergency Management.

Required skills

• In-depth knowledge of emergency preparedness and response, and some knowledge of crisis management and business continuity in the oil and gas, chemical or petrochemical industry.
• Excellent presentation and report writing skills in English.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
