HSSE Officer – Short-Term Project Role

About the role

Wood is hiring a HSSE Officer for its office in Qatar for a short duration of 2 months. The role covers the project HSE interface requirements, ensuring compliance with existing interface documents and helping develop future plans, and suits multi-skilled personnel with experience in onshore oil and gas.

Key responsibilities

• Manage project HSE interface requirements and ensure compliance with existing interface documents and plans
• Communicate HSE requirements to all relevant personnel
• Support HSE incident investigations and reporting
• Develop annual HSE improvement plans aligned with company and client objectives
• Assist in coordinating internal and external audits
• Share lessons learned from incidents and accidents, and record reportable issues in action tracking and incident reporting systems
• Ensure emergency response arrangements are in place and communicated to personnel
• Liaise with client HSE reps and site safety reps, and manage attendance at HSE meetings, workshops and forums
• Maintain a system for monitoring HSE performance and develop a site HSE visit programme
• Promote workforce involvement in HSE activities

Required profile

• C&G, ONC/HNC or equivalent in Technical, HSE or a related industry
• NEBOSH certificate; NVQ Level 4 IOSH desirable
• 2-5 years in a technical role or association with an HSE role in another industry
• Familiarity with industry regulations

• Good planning and organisational skills
• Effective MS Office user
• High level of written and spoken communication
