Instrument & Control Technician

About the role

Madre Integrated Engineering is hiring a full-time Instrument & Control Technician in Doha within the oil & gas sector. The technician maintains and repairs instrumentation and control systems to keep plant reliable and available, working closely with I&C engineers, operations teams and maintenance staff.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive, corrective and emergency maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting of instrumentation and control systems.
• Maintain and repair control valves, transmitters, analyzers, PLC systems, LT/HT drives, sensors, switches and other plant instrumentation according to OEM standards.
• Execute maintenance work orders in SAP/CMMS, keep accurate maintenance records and prepare calibration and defect rectification reports.
• Ensure compliance with HSE policies, permit-to-work systems, risk assessments and safety procedures, including proper handling of analytical chemicals and test equipment.
• Coordinate with I&C engineers, operations teams and maintenance personnel to support routine and emergency maintenance while minimizing downtime.

Required profile

• Diploma in Instrumentation & Control Engineering (or equivalent) with at least 3-4 years of experience in instrumentation and control maintenance in power generation, desalination, utilities or oil & gas.
• Certified or trained in first aid, CPR, emergency fire fighting, H2S and process safety, and knowledgeable of permit-to-work, risk assessments and HSE procedures.
• Strong analytical, communication and teamwork skills, able to work independently, respond to emergency call-outs and work in multicultural industrial environments.

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with control valves, actuators, transmitters, PLC systems, LT/HT drives, analyzers, sensors, switches and instrument calibration.
• SAP/CMMS, P&ID interpretation, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, calibration and OEM maintenance standards.
