Interior Design Group Leader – Retail

About the role

Al-Futtaim Retail, which operates IKEA stores in Qatar, is looking for an Interior Design Group Leader. The person is responsible for the visual presentation of the product range in the showroom, ensuring that all designs and communications follow IKEA standards and the company concept. The role involves planning and maintaining inspiring and functional interior displays, collaborating with team members and taking part in commercial activities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning in-house projects and prepare drawings and perspectives according to the IKEA Concept.
• Implement and maintain all interiors and displays in the showroom.
• Carry out daily inspections of the showroom and correct damages immediately.
• Support the planning and implementation of the store commercial calendar.
• Maintain all store areas in line with IKEA standards and use IKEA manuals to produce functional home furnishing solutions.
• Take part in other store projects, such as rebuilding business areas based on feedback from range priorities or poor performance.
• Assist Visual Merchandisers as needed and show customers the range coordination and room proposals with accessories.
• Plan and decorate room sets, assist customers with home solutions and support the store's commercial calendar.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Interior Design or Architecture.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in a relevant area.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Good knowledge of market, social trends and fashion.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team, with strong personal leadership and accountability.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Strong drafting, space planning, interior and architectural design skills.
• Design and creative skills focused on home furnishings.
