Large Area Maintenance Shelter Specialist (AFCAP V)

About the role

The AFCAP V Large Area Maintenance Shelter Specialist provides setup, maintenance, and dismantling of large area maintenance shelters for KBR’s AFCAP V group supporting U.S. Air Force operations in Qatar and the Middle East.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, install, operate, maintain, repair, and dispose of LAMS/BEAR structures and related systems according to manufacturer manuals.
• Erect, maintain, and dismantle shelters ensuring safety standards and operational readiness.
• Lead and supervise personnel, schedule equipment, materials, and coordinate work activities.
• Manage inventory, storage, and maintenance of tools and equipment used in shelters.
• Provide technical assistance, troubleshoot issues, and maintain accurate maintenance records.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent and at least 10 years of related experience.
• 3‑5 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• U.S. citizen with a valid driver’s license, passport (book) with ≥13 months validity, and a current U.S. Secret security clearance.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and schematics.
• Willingness to work in wartime or contingency environments and travel frequently.

Required skills

• Setup, maintenance, and repair of large area shelters (LAMS/BEAR).
• Inspection and troubleshooting of shelter systems.
• Inventory management and asset reporting.
• Reading and applying manufacturer operation and maintenance manuals.
