Master Technician - Volvo Trucks

About the role

Al-Futtaim Automotive is looking for a skilled Master Technician for its Volvo Trucks workshop in Doha. The technician carries out inspection, diagnosis, maintenance and repair on commercial trucks and buses, keeping them safe, reliable and up to standard while supporting efficient workshop operations and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance and general repairs on trucks and buses.
• Inspect vehicles and diagnose mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic faults.
• Use diagnostic tools and workshop equipment to identify technical issues accurately.
• Repair engines, transmissions, braking systems, steering, suspension, electrical systems and other components.
• Run vehicle inspections and road tests to confirm the quality of repairs.
• Follow manufacturer repair procedures, technical manuals and workshop standards.
• Complete job cards and record work done, parts used and further repairs needed.
• Report additional faults or safety concerns to the workshop supervisor.
• Maintain tools, diagnostic equipment and the work area safely and in order.
• Comply with health, safety, environmental and quality requirements and support colleagues when needed.

Required profile

• Diploma, ITI or technical qualification in Automobile Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Diesel Mechanics or a related field.
• Hands-on experience maintaining and repairing trucks, buses or other heavy commercial vehicles.
• Experience with diesel engines and commercial vehicle systems.
• Previous experience with an authorized dealer or established commercial vehicle workshop is preferred.
• Valid driving licence where required, and willingness to work flexible hours or shifts.
• Effective English communication.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of truck and bus mechanical, electrical and electronic systems.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams, technical manuals and repair instructions.
• Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, good attention to detail and time management.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a workshop team.
