Materials Inspector

About the role

Parsons is seeking a Materials Inspector to support site supervision on construction projects in Qatar. You will ensure that all construction activities, materials, and workmanship meet the project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct routine site inspections to verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
• Monitor daily progress and report any deviations to the Senior Works Inspector or Resident Engineer.
• Review and verify material deliveries, storage conditions, and conformity with project standards.
• Coordinate with contractors and site personnel to resolve technical or quality‑related issues.
• Prepare and maintain inspection records, daily reports, and other required documentation.
• Report safety violations and work with the HSE team to ensure prompt corrective actions.
• Support the resolution of non‑conformances and conduct follow‑up inspections after corrective actions.
• Participate in site meetings and inspections with consultants, contractors, and client representatives.

Required profile

• Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field (subject to Engineer approval).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in construction inspection or supervision, preferably on large‑scale infrastructure or public works projects.
• At least 3 years of experience in a consultancy environment.
• Strong attention to detail and proactive problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective written and spoken English communication skills.

Required skills

• Understanding of construction methods and material specifications.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Familiarity with local and international construction standards and codes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and basic reporting tools.
• Knowledge of QA/QC procedures and HSE regulations in the construction industry.
