Mechanical Supervisor - AGE Electrical

About the role

The AGE Mechanical Supervisor reports to the Mechanical Workshop Controller and is an experienced, skilled supervisor who carries out detailed maintenance and inspection activities on the electrical components in the AGE bay. The post holder maintains airworthiness through task delegation and authorisation, shows awareness of external dependencies and identifies areas for continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake detailed maintenance, inspection and supervision of electrical components, including removals, inspections, repairs, modifications, fault rectification, replacements and functional tests
• Ensure work complies with approved technical information and resolve faults, including configuration management awareness
• Maintain personal and team task authorisations for aircraft and component work in line with regulatory and AMC requirements
• Carry out electrical support tasks such as oversight checks and control of tooling and test equipment
• Evaluate faults and raise ad hoc work cards for found faults
• Meet delivery targets, report progress to management and keep a personal log book; assessors also approve authorisations and check Pt 145 licence packs
• Lead the team, develop members through performance reviews and on-the-job training, and communicate complex information clearly
• Manage regulatory activities, prioritise work across teams and escalate escalated issues affecting continuing airworthiness
• Comply with the regulatory framework, safety management system (human factors, risk management, hazard analysis) and governance and assurance framework, including audit support and improvement actions
• Support regulatory changes, ensure Part 145 activities are documented and performed by qualified, authorised personnel, and comply with contractual requirements such as ITAR and ISO

Required profile

• Engineering apprenticeship, ideally aeronautical engineering or military equivalent
• Minimum City & Guilds 2675 or 2661 in Aeronautical Engineering and Maintenance or equivalent
• At least 2 years at supervisor level, with breadth of experience and currency
• Practical experience applying aviation safety standards and safe operating practices
• Knowledge of exposure limits, functionally mandated procedures and management training
• Courses: Leadership Foundation, Human Factors Standard, E&PW Awareness, ITAR Awareness, IT Literate Fire Training, and driving licence
