PMV Maintenance Engineer

About the role

The PMV Maintenance Engineer is based in Lusail, Qatar, and plans and implements preventive maintenance schedules, troubleshoots breakdowns and coordinates repairs for equipment and vehicles at project sites. The aim is to ensure optimal reliability, safety and minimal downtime.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute maintenance tasks so machinery, systems and equipment run with minimal downtime.
• Carry out maintenance process audits and inspections to check compliance with procedures and find improvements.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and develop corrective actions or repair plans.
• Undertake planned maintenance and set up maintenance procedures and protocols for new and existing equipment.
• Train equipment operators and maintenance staff on proper operating and maintenance procedures.
• Respond quickly to major breakdowns, coordinate on-site repairs and liaise with vendors for specialist support.
• Forecast and plan system overhauls and upgrades, considering long-term maintenance costs.
• Supervise and guide junior engineers and technicians during maintenance work.
• Procure, test and commission specialist components, fixtures or fittings as needed.
• Work with the maintenance manager and finance department to manage maintenance budgets and set and track KPIs.
• Supervise the maintenance, inspection and certification of lifting equipment, mobile cranes and other heavy equipment.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 8 to 12 years of experience in PMV maintenance within the construction industry.
• Relevant certifications in equipment maintenance and experience with construction machinery.

Required skills

• Strong technical knowledge of construction machinery and equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and knowledge of safety regulations.
• Hands-on experience in maintenance operations.
