Purchasing Manager

About the role

La Cigale Hotel, managed by Accor, is a five-star luxury hotel in central Doha, Qatar, with 225 rooms and suites, nine dining and entertainment outlets, two ballrooms, a gymnasium, an indoor pool and a spa. The Purchasing Manager oversees and manages all purchasing activities in line with hotel policies, procedures and Accor procurement guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Source, evaluate and select reliable suppliers to secure competitive pricing, quality and timely delivery.
• Negotiate prices, contracts, payment terms and service agreements with suppliers.
• Review and approve purchase requisitions, purchase orders and procurement documentation.
• Maintain strong supplier relationships and conduct regular supplier performance evaluations.
• Monitor market trends, run regular market surveys and obtain competitive quotations for major purchases.
• Ensure purchases comply with approved budgets, financial controls and ethical, sustainable sourcing practices.
• Coordinate with department heads on purchasing needs and with Receiving, Stores, Cost Control and Accounts Payable teams on procedures.
• Work with the Stores team to avoid shortages, overstocking and unnecessary expenses.
• Keep purchasing records and supplier contracts properly documented and filed.
• Supervise, guide and develop the Purchasing team.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, Hospitality Management or a related field.
• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant purchasing experience, preferably in hospitality.
• Previous supervisory or managerial purchasing experience preferred.
• Experience with an international hotel brand is an advantage.

Required skills

• Procurement procedures, supplier management, contract negotiation and inventory control.
• Familiarity with hotel procurement systems and Microsoft Office.
