Rectification Controller

About the role

The Rectification Controller reports to the Forward Maintenance Manager and is a skilled maintenance technician who prioritises and allocates manpower. The post holder needs an excellent understanding of Typhoon aircraft systems and reporting processes, and is responsible for maintaining and updating ESS State Board estimates and forecasts of aircraft recovery times, briefing the Part M organisation on the state of the Typhoon fleet and recovery actions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide leadership and supervision to team members, ensuring maintenance is carried out to schedule and escalating issues as required
• Accurately record maintenance activities and keep airworthiness records on relevant systems
• Carry out rectification tasking, including ground handling, flight servicing, role changes, inspections, repairs, modifications, fault rectifications, replacements and functional tests
• Supervise the team, develop members through formal assessment and meet delivery targets
• Evaluate faults, raise ad hoc work cards and undertake independent inspections
• Ensure staff are competent and authorised, and comply with regulatory frameworks such as ITAR, EaPW and ISO
• Promote human factors, error management, risk management and safety assurance, and manage audit responses and non-compliance improvements

Required profile

• Engineering Apprenticeship (City & Guilds 2675 or 2661 or equivalent), ideally in Aeronautical Engineering, or a recognised engineering degree
• Minimum 2 years at supervisor level before this role, and 5 years of practical experience applying aviation safety standards
• 2 years as an operator in aircraft maintenance, 6 months on type in the last two years, and a log book of skills and authorities
• Knowledge of Acceptable Means of Compliance
