Scaffolding and Painting Technical Professional

About the role

KBR is looking for a Scaffolding and Painting Technical Professional in Ad Dawhah, Qatar. The role plans, coordinates and oversees scaffolding, surface preparation, blasting, painting, coating and corrosion protection activities, ensuring work is safe, efficient and compliant with project specifications, international standards, client requirements and KBR quality procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Scaffolding: review and monitor requirements, ensure design, erection, modification, inspection and dismantling comply with project and regulatory requirements, coordinate with construction, maintenance and HSE teams, verify materials and equipment, and conduct site inspections.
• Painting and coating: supervise surface preparation including abrasive blasting, monitor protective coatings and industrial painting, review inspection reports and quality records, and coordinate repairs and touch-ups.
• Technical and quality assurance: review method statements, risk assessments and work procedures, ensure compliance with approved ITPs, coordinate with QA/QC inspectors and client representatives, support contractors and site personnel, and prepare technical reports.
• HSE: promote a strong safety culture, take part in toolbox talks and risk assessments, ensure proper use of PPE, and support incident investigations.
• Coordination and reporting: liaise with construction, maintenance, operations, QA/QC and HSE teams, coordinate manpower, equipment and materials, monitor schedules and report progress to management.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Construction Management or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 8-10 years of experience in scaffolding, painting, coating and corrosion protection on Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, LNG, Refinery or EPC projects.
• Experience on large-scale industrial projects in the Middle East is preferred; familiarity with Qatar Energy, LNG or similar clients is advantageous.
