Senior Safety Officer – Airside Investigation

About the role

The Safety Investigation Specialist leads airside safety investigations at Hamad International Airport and Doha International Airport, ensuring regulatory compliance and continuous safety improvement within MATAR’s Safety Management System.

Key responsibilities

• Respond promptly to reported airside incidents, accidents, near‑misses and deviations.
• Conduct thorough investigations to determine causal and contributory factors.
• Collect, verify and analyse evidence such as witness statements, photographs and procedural documents.
• Prepare initial, interim and final investigation reports for stakeholders.
• Coordinate with internal departments, external authorities and regulators during investigations.
• Maintain and update the airport occurrence database for accurate reporting and trend analysis.
• Produce statistical reports, trend analyses and safety performance summaries for management review.
• Monitor implementation and effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions.
• Support emergency response activities related to airside safety occurrences.
• Review and maintain occurrence classification criteria and taxonomy.

Required profile

• Proven experience conducting airside safety investigations in an aviation environment.
• Strong knowledge of aviation safety regulations and Safety Management Systems.
• Excellent analytical abilities and report‑writing skills.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with internal teams, external stakeholders and regulatory authorities.
• Experience monitoring corrective actions and assessing residual risks.
