Vice President Contracts & Commercial

About the role

The Vice President of Contracts & Commercial leads the Commercial & Contracts and Finance teams, providing strategic commercial support across all major projects. This senior position ensures that contracts, procurement, and cost control align with organisational goals and project timelines.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee project processes to deliver major projects within budget, schedule, safety, and procurement requirements.
• Monitor performance of appointed PMCMs, Cost Consultants, Design Consultants, contractors and suppliers.
• Align commercial and contract activities with organisational strategy from initiation through commissioning and hand‑over.
• Manage procurement, contract administration and cost‑control functions throughout the project lifecycle.
• Delegate tasks across the Contract and Commercial Section based on team members’ strengths and experience.
• Set up, manage and modify cost‑control and contract‑management systems for all MPD projects.
• Prepare, review and manage project budgets and cash‑flows in partnership with Cost Consultants.
• Review payment applications, invoices and project documents to ensure contractual compliance.
• Participate in tender preparation, evaluation and recommendation processes.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in commercial and contract management for large‑scale engineering or construction projects.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of procurement, cost control, budgeting and cash‑flow management.
• Experience overseeing consultants, contractors and suppliers to ensure contractual alignment.
