Data Architecture Consultant

About the role

The Data Architecture Consultant works with clients to design and document data‑architecture solutions that align business needs with secure, implementable technology. The role bridges current‑state fragmentation and a coherent target architecture, providing clear recommendations, transition road‑maps and traceable specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Assess existing data sources, stores, flows, platforms and architecture constraints.
• Define architecture principles and produce current‑state, target‑state and transition‑state views.
• Create and review conceptual, logical and physical data models aligned with business definitions and metadata.
• Define data domains, subject areas, ownership boundaries and authoritative sources.
• Design integration, API, exchange and pipeline solutions while incorporating data quality, master‑data, metadata, lineage, security, privacy, retention and resilience requirements.
• Document architecture decisions, trade‑offs, assumptions, risks and dependencies.
• Facilitate workshops with business and technical stakeholders.
• Validate delivered designs, support technical specifications and provide knowledge transfer to client teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 6‑10 years of experience in data architecture, data modeling, solution architecture or data engineering.
• Proven experience developing current‑state and target‑state designs and supporting implementation road‑maps.
• Experience presenting architecture options to both business and technology audiences.
