Division Chief – Pediatric and Congenital Cardiac Surgery

About the role

The Division Chief leads clinical, educational, research and executive management for pediatric and congenital cardiac surgery. Reporting to the Chair of the Department of Cardiovascular Diseases, the role integrates strategy, resource management and high‑quality patient care across elective and emergency cases.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the division’s strategic vision, business plans and growth initiatives.
• Oversee financial performance, budgeting and resource allocation for the division.
• Lead clinical service planning, capacity planning and coordination with anesthesia and surgical executives.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (Joint Commission International, Qatar Supreme Health Council) and quality initiatives such as NSQIP.
• Mentor and develop pediatric and congenital cardiac surgeons, fostering clinical, teaching, research and administrative expertise.
• Collaborate with Weill Cornell Medical College – Qatar to support undergraduate and resident education.

Required profile

• Proven academic track record as a pediatric and congenital cardiac surgeon with broad expertise.
• Demonstrated leadership in clinical service delivery, research integration and educational program development.
• Experience in strategic planning, budget management and multidisciplinary team coordination.
• Commitment to high standards of patient care, quality improvement and regulatory compliance.
