Senior Consultant – Trauma Surgery

About the role

The Senior Consultant – Trauma Surgery provides senior clinical leadership within the department, overseeing patient care, junior doctors, and service development. The role combines high‑quality clinical work with management, teaching, and research responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of consultants and junior doctors, ensuring safe and effective patient care.
• Maintain clinical privileges, adhere to Hamad Medical Corporation policies, and complete all assigned duties.
• Conduct inpatient rounds, supervise outpatient examinations, and perform all relevant interventions in trauma surgery.
• Participate in departmental committees, service development, budgeting, staffing, and strategic planning.
• Contribute to medical education, training programs, and research initiatives aligned with the corporation’s academic goals.

Required profile

• Western medical qualification (UK, USA, Canada, Australia or equivalent).
• Specialty in Neurology/Vascular Neurology/Neurocritical Care with a subspecialty in Intensive and Critical Care (Trauma).
• Minimum 5 years post‑qualification clinical experience in Trauma Surgery.
• Valid medical license/registration from home country and eligibility for licensing in Qatar.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
