Health & Safety Manager (Female)

About the role

Nord Anglia Education is seeking a Health & Safety Manager to lead and enhance the health and safety framework at Etqan Global Academy in Doha. The successful candidate will ensure a safe, compliant environment for students, staff, visitors and contractors.

Key responsibilities

• Lead implementation and continuous improvement of the school’s health and safety management system.
• Provide practical advice and guidance to school leadership, operations, facilities and teaching teams.
• Develop, coordinate and maintain risk assessments for all school activities, facilities, educational visits, events and contractors.
• Conduct regular health and safety inspections and audits across the campus.
• Lead or support investigations of incidents and near‑misses, identifying root causes and corrective actions.
• Support the development, testing and maintenance of emergency response procedures, including fire evacuation, lockdown and medical emergencies.
• Deliver health and safety inductions, training and awareness sessions for staff and contractors.
• Monitor contractor safety compliance and oversee contractor activities on site.
• Report health and safety performance regularly to school and regional leadership.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH International General Certificate) or equivalent experience.
• Experience in a health and safety role, preferably within education, facilities, hospitality or healthcare environments.
• Strong understanding of risk assessment, inspections, incident investigation and corrective action management.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities and the capacity to work with diverse school stakeholders.
• Good IT proficiency for accurate record‑keeping.
• Desirable: IOSH Managing Safely, First Aid or Fire Safety training; experience working in Qatar or the GCC.
