Senior Software Developer

About the role

Iberdrola Innovation Middle East is building a suite of highly scalable, cloud‑native SaaS products. We are seeking a hands‑on Senior Software Developer to lead technical change within a core development squad, write clean, efficient code, and ensure a cohesive technology stack across the platform.

Key responsibilities

• Develop robust, scalable backend services primarily in Java for multi‑tenant SaaS features.
• Champion engineering excellence by implementing automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment automation.
• Collaborate with senior developers from other squads to align technical patterns and ensure platform integration.
• Design efficient APIs (REST/GraphQL), build containerized microservices with Docker, and select appropriate data storage solutions (SQL or NoSQL).
• Work closely with Data and AI engineers, leveraging Python to integrate AI models and data pipelines.
• Provide technical mentorship, conduct code reviews, and foster a culture of continuous learning within a small development team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent hands‑on experience.
• Significant senior‑level experience developing Java‑based backend systems and cloud‑native SaaS applications.
• Proven track record with CI/CD, automated testing, containerization, and microservices architecture.
• Preferred Master’s degree or relevant technical certifications; Google Cloud Professional Developer certification is highly preferred.
