Assistant Sales Manager – Events

About the role

The Iconic Rixos Gulf Hotel Doha is seeking an Assistant Sales Manager focused on events. You will support the Senior Sales Manager in driving event‑related revenue, building relationships with key partners, and ensuring the hotel’s event offerings are promoted effectively.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a library of market references, periodicals and sales leads; stay updated on market trends and hotel selling techniques.
• Research the market continuously to identify business sources, client profiles and travel patterns.
• Conduct sales calls and visits to promote the hotel’s event spaces and services.
• Develop and nurture contacts with airlines, travel agencies, commercial houses, private clubs and professional associations to generate new business.
• Review and update internal promotional materials (signage, posters, tent cards) to ensure visual effectiveness and brand consistency.
• Coordinate with Front Office and Housekeeping to handle reservations, inquiries, requests and complaints.
• Stay familiar with hotel products, rates and promotions; cross‑sell where appropriate.
• Prepare and submit weekly Call Reports to the Director of Sales.

Required profile

• Disciplined, self‑motivated with a positive attitude.

• Team player with strong communication skills.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role at an upscale hotel.
• Graduate of a Hotel or Business School with a Higher Diploma or Bachelor’s degree.
