Civil Project Engineer

About the role

The Civil Project Engineer plans, coordinates, supervises and executes civil construction activities at project sites in Doha, Qatar. The role ensures compliance with project specifications, quality standards, safety regulations and project timelines, and manages manpower, materials, subcontractors and site activities so that projects finish within budget and schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day civil construction and ensure work follows approved drawings, specifications and schedules
• Coordinate with consultants, clients, subcontractors and internal teams, and review construction drawings for discrepancies
• Prepare work schedules, coordinate with procurement and stores for material delivery, and attend project meetings
• Ensure quality standards are met, conduct site inspections, coordinate inspections with consultants and authorities, and maintain records of inspections and approvals
• Implement HSE policies, run regular safety inspections and report unsafe conditions
• Verify subcontractor work progress and measurements, assist with quantity take-offs and material estimations, and prepare daily progress reports, variations, as-built drawings and close-out documents

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or a related field
• Relevant experience as required by company and project standards
• Knowledge of construction methods, materials and project management practices
• Familiarity with local authority regulations and construction standards
• Preferred: experience in building, infrastructure, commercial/residential or turnkey construction projects

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office and project management software is preferred
• Technical and problem-solving skills, project coordination and site supervision
