Quantity Surveyor (Civil Engineering Background)

About the role

A Quantity Surveyor position is open in Doha, Qatar, for candidates with a civil engineering background. The role covers cost control, BOQ preparation, cost planning and reporting on civil engineering or construction projects, and requires working on-site.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or a closely related discipline.
• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in civil engineering or construction projects, preferably in the Middle East.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience preferred; previous GCC experience preferred.
• Experience in infrastructure or large construction projects.
• Ability to work on-site in Doha, Qatar.

Required skills

• Cost control and cost management to monitor budgets, manage expenditures and optimise project financial performance.
• Advanced BOQ and cost planning skills, including detailed quantities, cost estimates and support for tendering and procurement.
• Cost reporting: regular summaries, forecasts and variance analyses for stakeholders.
• Knowledge of construction contracts, variations and payment certificates, and tender procedures.
• Proficiency in QS and cost estimation software, MS Excel and other reporting tools.
• Analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
