DevOps Engineer – AI for Public Sector

About the role

Scale’s Global Public Sector team is building AI‑driven solutions that serve millions of citizens. As a DevOps Engineer you will design, develop, and operate secure, cloud‑native platforms that power these applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable backend systems using modern cloud infrastructure.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define standards, tooling, and processes for secure environments.
• Write and maintain Infrastructure‑as‑Code templates (Terraform, CloudFormation) and manage networking components such as VPCs, VPNs, load balancers, and firewalls.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines (CircleCI, GitHub Actions) and optimize container orchestration with Kubernetes.
• Create and test disaster‑recovery plans and design hybrid/multi‑cloud strategies across on‑premises and public clouds.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of engineering experience focused on back‑end systems.
• Proficiency in at least one language: Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, or C++.
• Strong background in distributed systems and public cloud platforms (AWS and Azure preferred).
• Proven ability to own end‑to‑end engineering projects independently.
