Electrical Technician – HV/MV/LV Systems

About the role

KBR is seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to support maintenance and modification of HV/MV/LV electrical equipment at its Qatar facilities. The role involves hands‑on work on power transformers, switchgear, cables, motor control centres and related systems, ensuring reliable operation in an oil & gas environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and modifications on HV/MV/LV power and distribution transformers.
• Service and troubleshoot switch boards, switch gears, cables, terminations, and MCCs.
• Maintain MV/LV motors, PLCs, VFDs, UPS systems, lighting, hoists, and flare electrical systems.
• Carry out basic repairs of electrical equipment and power circuits.
• Interpret single‑line diagrams, control schematics and flow charts to diagnose issues.
• Use testing and calibration instruments such as multimeters and insulation testers (Megger).
• Apply safety procedures, including LOTO and hazardous material handling, in compliance with oil & gas standards.

Required profile

• Technical Diploma (12+3 years) in Electrical/Electromechanical trade.
• Minimum 5 years hands‑on experience in oil & gas, petrochemical or fertilizer plants.
• Familiarity with work‑permit systems and safety/environmental regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret machine sketches and control schematics.
• Strong commitment to safe work practices and LOTO procedures.
