Information Technology Project Manager – Consultant (Banking & Financial Services)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager – Consultant to lead a portfolio of technology projects within a banking and financial services environment. The role oversees projects from initiation through closure, ensuring delivery on scope, schedule, budget and quality while supporting the organization’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of IT projects using the organization’s project management methodology, from initiation to closure.
• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, resource allocations and project documentation such as charters and closure reports.
• Monitor scope, timelines, budgets, risks and quality, reporting performance through KPIs and metrics.
• Build and maintain relationships with business stakeholders, IT departments and external vendors; coordinate contracts, deliverables and performance.
• Facilitate steering committee meetings, project reviews and stakeholder workshops, providing regular status updates to senior management.
• Identify, assess and mitigate project risks, maintain risk and issue registers, and ensure compliance with governance, security and data protection standards.
• Lead cross‑functional project teams, resolve conflicts, mentor team members and promote continuous improvement.
• Prepare and manage project budgets, monitor costs and resource utilization, and support procurement and financial planning activities.
• Review technical solution approaches with architects, support technology selection decisions and coordinate delivery across infrastructure, applications and security teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing enterprise IT projects in the banking or financial services sector.
• Strong leadership, communication and decision‑making abilities.
• Demonstrated stakeholder and vendor management expertise.
• Solid understanding of risk, compliance and IT governance frameworks.
• Experience in financial planning, budgeting and cost control for large‑scale projects.
